Article below from Jetgo Facebook page.
Following overwhelming support for Dubbo to Brisbane direct jet services JETGO is pleased to announce a significant expansion of air services from Dubbo as part of its daylight savings schedules.
The new JETGO schedule will increase direct jet flights to Brisbane from four to six days a week and for the first time introduce direct jet flights from Dubbo to Melbourne.
Managing Director Airlines Paul Bredereck said the new services have been introduced as a direct result of the community, business and Council support for JETGO’s Dubbo to Brisbane direct jet services which began on 20 July this year.
“The daylight saving time schedule is set to commence at the end of October 2015 and we are excited about expanding our direct jet services to Brisbane and to be the first regular passenger operator to directly connect Dubbo to Melbourne,” Mr Bredereck said.
“We have been very impressed with the demand for the Dubbo to Brisbane services,” Mr Bredereck said. “We are confident there is similar demand for Dubbo to Melbourne services and this is a logical expansion of our services,” he said.
“The Mayor of Dubbo, the Council and staff have been very supportive of our company and have facilitated a smooth start up to the new services. This support is a significant reason why we have chosen to expand services from Dubbo,” Mr Bredereck said.
Mayor of Dubbo Councillor Mathew Dickerson welcomed the announcement saying JETGO has listened to the community and responded positively. “It has been no secret that the people of Dubbo wanted direct flights to Melbourne,” Councillor Dickerson said. “I congratulate JETGO on listening to the community and taking steps to be in a position to deliver this service.”
Dubbo to Melbourne flights are being scheduled to begin by the end of October with three flights a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Dubbo to Brisbane flights will now operate Monday to Friday and Sunday beginning before the end of October. As usual routes are subject to final approval from CASA.
Flights will be available online soon
