BNE now 2nd busiest city airport for movements in Australia

Brisbane passed Melbourne as the second busiest capital city movements airport in Australia.

Air Services show for the financial year ending 30 June 2013 BNE handled 219,920 movements up from 206,048 the previous year.

MEL went from 208,674 to 218,974 movements.

Sydney is still Australia's busiest airport for movements.

These totals for BNE were achieved whilst only 1 runway was in use for 5 of those 12 months as RWY 14/32 was out of action.
