Solomons Tsunami warning affects flights
The 8.0 magnitude earthquake which occurred off the Solomon Islands today has affected some flights out of Brisbane heading for neighboring Islands. Two Virgin Australia flights returned to Brisbane after a Tsunami warning was issued. These flights included VA 4191 from Brisbane to Port Moresby operated by B737-800 VH-YIA and PBN 181 from Brisbane to Port Vila operated by B737-800 ZK-PBL. Both flights returned to Brisbane as a precaution to the Tsnuami warning issued by the United States Geological Survey. The warning has since been cancelled.
